SHIFTED Explores Displaced Cultural Narratives
05.14.2026 | By Ryan Jang
SHIFTED 2025 is a hypothetical international conference that explores the narratives formed through the relocation of cultural objects and artifacts across history. Framed through a geopolitical perspective, the project examines how displacement reshapes memory, identity, and cultural meaning over time.
The conference imagines a platform where artists, scholars, and citizens gather to exchange perspectives on the movement of heritage within a global context. Through dialogue and collective interpretation, SHIFTED 2025 opens conversations surrounding ownership, preservation, and the politics embedded within cultural artifacts.
Created by Ryan Jang, co-founder of SLIIT, the project reflects his interest in visual identity, cultural narratives, and contemporary graphic systems. Based in New York, Ryan is currently studying graphic design at The Cooper Union while working at A24, developing work across editorial, branding, and visual communication.
